DESCRIPTION

 

Duration: 3 weeks

Location: Ulaanbaatar – Financial Regulatory Commission (FRC)

FRC is inviting the interested person, local consultants to take part at the short term project of producing international standards, guideline of mineral deposits valuation and FRC will select only one candidate as long as meet the requirement.

TASKS

Under the general guidance and standard tasks described by working group adopted by FRC, consultant will:

• In the first week of the assignment, the national consultant shall provide work plan for research study with list of internationally accepted guidelines and standards;
• Study relevant international best practice applicable to Mongolian economy and  mining sector development and provide recommendations;
• Translate international standards, guidelines regarding valuation of mineral deposits;
• Study legal and regulatory framework of valuation of mineral deposits in Mongolia;
• Develop guidelines on valuation of mineral deposits in line with the international standards and methodologies;
• Conduct discussions about valuation of mineral deposits and collect feedbacks, and recommendations from the working group if necessary
• Present recommendations on valuation of mineral deposits to the working group adopted by the FRC
• Submit final report covering tasks 1-7 of the scope of work.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

• A suitable candidate should have at least master’s degree in a field of mining, mineral sector, economics, and law;
• The candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in economics, finance, mining sector including developing legislations, especially on valuation of mineral deposits, mining sector analysis, mining project planning;
• The candidate should have a proven record of accomplishment of work on legal and regulatory framework for mining sector agencies or experience in private company that operates in mining sector or finance, legal consulting over the last 3 years;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to function effectively, collaboratively in a team environment, high integrity and accountability
